Learned It From Experience: L.I.F.E. Lesson #3
Most people have a limited understanding of interior design. HGTV is great for ideas and bringing awareness to our industry, but it is not a good representation of pricing and fees. Honestly, it’s counterproductive. Many people have unrealistic expectations after watching hours of design shows.
The number one question that potential clients have is “How much will it cost?” The project, your fees, all of it. They want hard numbers.
Before you even walk into a consult, you better be able to explain your fee structure backward and forwards. To do this, you’ll need to decide how you charge for your services.
Once you know how you are charging you need to be confident in that fee. Say it to yourself out loud, in the mirror, in your car, wherever you can get the chance or you won’t be comfortable saying it to a potential client.
You will need to do some research on your fee. Fees will range depending on your expertise, schooling, area of the country, do not set your fee without knowing these things.
Unsure on your fees and pricing? Learning how to charge for your services is one of the lessons we will work through in MYDB. You’ll get a workbook, video walk-through, and my expert support. Join MYDB now!
